Our Story
Every home in Puerto Rico holds a story: family gathered around the table, storms weathered together, salt air drifting through open windows. Every family here also knows the island’s quiet adversary, humidity. It creeps into walls, lifts paint, invites mold, and slowly wears down the places we love most.
We started New Age Artisans Puerto Rico because we believed our homes deserved better. We didn’t want another coat of paint that peels and has to be redone in two years, or another tile installation with grout lines that trap moisture and crack over time. We wanted a surface that works with the island instead of fighting it: natural in texture, timeless in beauty, and permanent by design.
That search led us back to lime. For thousands of years, from Roman villas to Moroccan riads to the historic walls of Old San Juan, lime has protected the buildings people cared about most. It breathes, so moisture escapes instead of becoming trapped. Its natural alkalinity helps it resist mold. And over time it hardens, slowly returning to stone.
Our journey took us all the way to Montana, where we met New Age Artisans, makers of a signature collection of world-class lime plasters. When we saw the quality of their work, the path was clear. The Caribbean deserved the very best, so we brought it home.
Today our lime plasters are made in Puerto Rico from natural, local raw materials, crafted for the climate we live in and the homes we love. Every wall we help create is more than a finish. It is a promise of beauty that endures, a surface that grows stronger with time, and a legacy built to last for generations.
